Lamborghini Through Glass - Motorworld Region Stuttgart and the V8 Hotel

Day five of the week, and it was planned differently from the start. No classic museum, no scheduled programming. Instead: the Motorworld Region Stuttgart in Böblingen - a site on the former Württemberg airport grounds that positions itself somewhere between dealer center, exhibition, and experiential destination. And in the evening as a finale: an overnight stay at the V8 Hotel, directly on the grounds.

Motorworld - The Concept

Motorworld Böblingen operates differently than a museum. There are no entrance tickets, no guided tours, no red arrows on the floor. You walk in and look at whatever catches your attention. Dealers, workshops, exhibition spaces, restaurants - all under one roof, all centered around automobiles. Admission is free.

The grounds span approximately 24,000 m². Large enough to wander around. Small enough that you can see everything in about an hour.

(For those familiar with Motorworld Munich: Stuttgart is the smaller sibling. Munich has everything under a single roof, a great Italian café with direct views of McLarens and Bugattis - the atmosphere is in a different league. Stuttgart is still worth it - but expectations should match.)

The Glass Boxes

One of the most striking concepts on the grounds: vehicles in individual glass boxes, visible from all sides.

Lotus and the Lamborghini Moment

The grounds host several brand dealers - including a Lotus dealer where you can examine the current Emira and Eletre up close without anyone immediately approaching you with a sales pitch.

But the real highlight was the Lamborghini workshop. Not just a dealer space, but an actual working workshop - visible through a glass front. In and around the workshop: several Aventadors, a Huracán STO, multiple Urus models, and a Revuelto.

The Lego Machine

A small curiosity on the side: In the middle of the grounds stands a Lego vending machine. Not accessories, not individual pieces - but complete sets in various sizes, dispensed like a bottle of water. The inventory apparently rotates, with a natural focus on vehicles. Absurd and charming at the same time.

V8 Hotel - Arrival

The V8 Hotel is located directly on the Motorworld grounds.

Even the reception is different than expected: from there, you have a direct line of sight to the McLaren dealer and a classic car dealer. Not meant as decoration - simply because that’s how it is here.

The themed rooms are spatially separated from the regular rooms - through their own door that sections off a small hallway. You immediately notice that this area is designed differently. The entrance itself has something special about it.

The Petrol Heads Room

The room itself: Petrol Heads - themed in Martini Racing Look, white variant. Anyone familiar with Porsche racing history will immediately recognize the design.

The bed is built in Porsche 911 style - the bodywork as a frame, not as a gimmick, but as an actual piece of furniture. The tables are made from wheels. On the walls: automotive-related graphics and art that fit the overall picture without looking overdone. Every detail is aligned with the theme - even the soap comes in car shapes.

Slept well. Breakfast was included. The underground garage costs 15 € - for the location and context, a fair deal.

Conclusion

Motorworld Stuttgart is not a must-see - but a good afternoon if you’re in the area and like cars. The glass boxes and the Lamborghini workshop are the highlights.

The V8 Hotel is the real star of the day. If you stay there, you should book a themed room - regular rooms are available anywhere. The combination of the reception view, hotel bar, and the moment when you walk through your own door into the themed room hallway makes the stay into something you won’t forget anytime soon.

Day six: Stuttgart, but this time with a very clear goal. The Mercedes-Benz Museum awaits - and that’s a world of its own.
